1946: He joins the King's African Rifles as an assistant cook.
1948: Promoted to Corporal.
1958: Promoted to Sergeant Major and Platoon Commander.
1959: Promoted to Warrant Officer.
1961: Promoted to Lieutenant, he become 1 of 2 native Ugandans to be commissioned under British Rule.
1962: While under his command, his platoon commits the "Turkana Massacre." Victims were tortured, and some were even buried alive. After that, he gets promoted to Major and puts down mutiny. Amin starts paratrooper training.
1966: Government started to go corrupt. Amin was appointed to Major-General and Chief of the Army and Air Force.
1969: He tries to assassinate the leader,(Obote) but failed.
1970: Okoya ( the deputy chief of the Army) and his wife were killed by Amin. Tensions between Obote and Amin rise. Obote takes away all of Amin's powers.
